You’ve spent months planning every detail and your flowers are the finishing touch that bring it all together. The last thing you want? Droopy blooms halfway through the day.

Good news: with just a few extra steps, you can keep your bouquet (and the rest of your florals) looking beautiful from your first photo to your last dance.

Here’s everything you need to know:

1) Start With Flowers That Can Handle It

Some flowers are just naturally stronger than others. We always recommend adding in-season, hardy blooms: things like roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, and orchids. They can stand up to longer wedding days without fading fast.

And don’t worry, we’ll help guide you to flowers that look amazing and hold up well.

2) Keep Them Cool Before As Much As Possible

Florals don’t love heat, so it’s important to keep them in a cool, shaded space until it's time for their big moment.

  • Avoid leaving them in the car or near a sunny window.

  • If you're getting ready early, set your bouquets in vases of water until you’re ready for photos.

  • A/C is your friend, use it!

3) Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate

It’s a good idea to keep your bouquet in a vase of water whenever you’re not holding it, like while getting ready, between photo setups, or during downtime before the ceremony. It gives the flowers a little break and helps keep them hydrated and fresh for all the big moments.

Pro Tip: Repurposing bouquets for the reception not only keeps them hydrated, it adds extra beauty to your tables, bar, or gift area.

For delicate blooms like hydrangeas or orchids, a light misting with a spray bottle throughout the day can also help keep them looking their best.so the water stays fresh.

4) Ask a Bridesmaid to Be the “Flower Watcher”

As a bride, you’ve got enough to focus on, delegate flower duty to a bridesmaid or planner.

They can:

  • Keep an eye on bouquets between photos

  • Touch up with a little misting

  • Make sure everything still looks good before you walk down the aisle
